How We Verify Every Review

Every submitted review first passes through our proprietary machine learning models, trained on over 50 million reviews across the App Store and Google Play. Our AI analyzes dozens of signals to determine if a review was written by a human or generated by automated tools.

The system performs behavioral analysis on writing patterns, submission timing, device metadata, and linguistic markers. Bot-generated reviews often exhibit telltale signs: unnatural phrasing, template-based structures, and suspicious timing patterns. Our models detect these with 99.2% accuracy.

We verify that every reviewer is a real person with a confirmed email address and unique device fingerprint. This prevents sock puppet accounts, review farms, and individuals submitting multiple reviews under different identities.

Our identity verification uses encrypted device fingerprinting that respects user privacy while ensuring one person can only submit one review per app. We never sell or share personal data — identity verification is purely for anti-fraud purposes.

This is where we go beyond what any app store does. We verify that you've actually used the app you're reviewing. Through API verification (when available), receipt validation, and screenshot evidence, we confirm genuine usage before publishing any review.

For apps that support it, we can verify installation and usage directly through platform APIs. For others, reviewers provide evidence such as in-app screenshots, subscription confirmations, or usage histories. This step alone filters out approximately 15% of remaining reviews.

Our NLP (Natural Language Processing) engine analyzes review content for authenticity markers. It detects review bombing campaigns, astroturfing operations, and coordinated manipulation attempts by identifying patterns across reviews.

The system monitors for sudden spikes in reviews, suspiciously similar language across multiple submissions, and sentiment patterns that don't match organic user behavior. When a coordinated campaign is detected, all related reviews are flagged for human review.

The final step is always human. Our editorial team of trained moderators reviews flagged submissions and performs spot checks on reviews that pass automated screening. Edge cases are always decided by a human, not an algorithm.

We also maintain a full appeals process. If your review is rejected, you'll receive an explanation and the opportunity to appeal. Our moderation team reviews every appeal within 72 hours. We believe in fairness and transparency, even when it means more work for us.
