Essential for frequent travelers
Forward confirmation emails and TripIt creates a beautiful organized itinerary. Flights, hotels, car rentals, restaurants - all in chronological order. Travel planning nirvana.
Pro is worth it for business travelers
TripIt Pro with real-time flight alerts, seat tracking, and fare refund alerts is worth every penny if you travel weekly for work. Saves hours of monitoring.
Sharing itinerary with family
Sharing my complete trip itinerary with my wife so she knows where I am and when is reassuring for both of us. Easy sharing that keeps family in the loop.
Pro subscription is pricey
$49/year for Pro features is steep for casual travelers. The free version is too limited and the Pro version is too expensive. Need a middle tier.
Auto-import is magic
Connected my email and TripIt automatically imports and organizes every booking. I dont have to do anything. Its like having a personal travel secretary.
Offline access is crucial
Having my complete itinerary available offline with confirmation numbers, addresses, and phone numbers is essential when traveling internationally without data.
Calendar sync keeps me organized
The calendar sync that puts all travel events in my calendar is super useful. At a glance I can see travel conflicts and plan around trips.
Email parsing misses sometimes
The auto-import occasionally misses bookings or parses details wrong. Have to manually check and correct. Most of the time its right but not 100%.
Maps and directions for everything
Each item in my itinerary has a link to maps and directions. Getting from the airport to the hotel to the restaurant to the meeting - all mapped out. Seamless.
Flight refund alerts (Pro) are great
TripIt Pro monitors flight prices after booking and alerts you if the fare drops for a potential refund. Got $75 back on a flight I didnt even know dropped in price.
Trip history is useful
Looking back at past trips with all the details preserved is great for expense reports, memories, and planning return visits. A personal travel archive.
Free version feels crippled
The free version gives you a taste but locks essential features behind Pro. Real-time alerts and inner circle features should be available to everyone.
Organized my complex itinerary
Had a 4-city, 3-week business trip with 12 flights, 8 hotels, and 5 car rentals. TripIt organized it all into one clean itinerary. Would have been chaos without it.
Neighborhood safety info (Pro)
The neighborhood safety scores for hotels and areas around your bookings is a Pro feature that gives peace of mind when traveling to unfamiliar cities.
Better than airline apps for alerts
TripIt Pro alerts about flight changes are faster and more detailed than what airlines send. Gate changes, delays - TripIt knows before the airline app updates.
Manual entries are tedious
For bookings that cant be auto-imported (some international bookings), manual entry is tedious. The form is long and the interface for manual entry needs improvement.
Travel stats are fun
The year-in-review travel stats showing miles traveled, countries visited, and time in the air are fun to see. Gamification of travel that frequent flyers enjoy.
Cannot travel without it
TripIt has been my travel companion for 8 years. Every single trip, personal and business, is organized through this app. Its become an indispensable part of travel for me.
Point tracker is niche but useful
The feature tracking airline miles and hotel points across loyalty programs is useful for frequent travelers trying to maximize rewards.
Worth the investment for travelers
If you take more than 3-4 trips per year, TripIt Pro pays for itself in time saved and headaches avoided. The organization alone is worth the subscription.
