Affordable trendy clothes
I know fast fashion has issues but as a college student on a budget, SHEIN lets me stay trendy without breaking the bank. Most items Ive gotten are decent quality for the price.
Read reviews before buying
The reviews with photos are essential. Some items look amazing in the listing but are see-through garbage IRL. Customer photos save you from bad purchases.
My guilty pleasure app
I cant stop shopping here lol. $3 tops, $8 dresses, $2 jewelry... the prices are addictive. Most things are surprisingly wearable. Best hauls come from checking reviews first.
Ethical concerns bother me
The prices are too good to be true and theres a reason - labor practices and environmental impact. I deleted the app after learning more about their supply chain. Not worth it.
Size up ALWAYS
Learned the hard way to always order 1-2 sizes up. The size chart measurements are helpful if you actually measure yourself. Quality has been mostly fine for casual wear.
Great for accessories, meh for clothes
The jewelry, bags, and accessories are actually good value. Clothing is more hit or miss. Some pieces are great, others fall apart after one wash. Accessories are the safe bet.
Points system rewards loyalty
The points and bonus system gives real discounts. Between points, coupons, and flash sales, I rarely pay full price (which is already cheap). The app makes saving easy.
Chemical smell on arrival
Multiple items arrived with a strong chemical odor. Had to wash everything 2-3 times before wearing. Concerned about what chemicals are in these clothes.
Free returns saved me
The free return on first order is generous. Returned items that didnt fit without any hassle. After that, returns are still easy but you pay shipping.
Menswear is limited
The app is clearly designed for women. Mens selection is much smaller and the quality is worse. Sizes are even more off for mens clothing. Not great for guys.
Festival outfits on a budget
Got all my festival outfits from SHEIN for under $50 total. Looked amazing, got tons of compliments, and I dont care if they only last one season at these prices.
Addictive scrolling problem
The infinite scroll of cheap fashion is designed to be addictive and it works. I end up spending way more than planned because individual items are so cheap. Be careful.
Kids clothes are surprisingly good
My kids grow so fast that expensive clothes dont make sense. SHEIN kids items are cute, affordable, and hold up for the few months they fit. Perfect for growing kids.
Colors never match photos
The colors in listings rarely match what arrives. Ordered a navy blue dress and received something closer to black. Ordered blush pink and got hot pink. Very frustrating.
Swimwear is a safe bet
Bikinis and swimwear from SHEIN are actually pretty good. Comparable to what youd pay $40-50 for elsewhere. Just check the review photos for accurate color and fit.
Home decor section is growing
Started exploring their home section and found some great deals on decorative items. Throw pillows, candle holders, wall art - all quite nice for the price.
Environmental disaster
Ultra-fast fashion is destroying the planet. SHEIN produces more waste than almost any other fashion company. Deleted the app and switched to thrifting. Please think about impact.
Activewear is decent
The workout sets are comfortable and hold up to exercise. Not lululemon quality obviously but for $15 a set theyre perfectly fine for the gym. Size up one from usual.
Style dupes for less
Find something you like at Zara or H&M and SHEIN probably has a similar version for 1/5 the price. Not identical but close enough. The app search by image helps with this.
Shipping improved a lot
Used to take 3-4 weeks but now most orders arrive in 7-10 days. Big improvement. The express shipping option is worth it for items you need sooner.
