Changed how I organize everything
I moved my entire business from a mix of spreadsheets, Google Docs, and Trello into Notion. Took about two weeks to set up but now everything is in one place. The database relations feature is what really sold me. My only complaint is that the mobile app could be snappier.
Powerful but takes time to learn
Notion is amazing once you get the hang of it. I spent a solid weekend watching YouTube tutorials before I felt comfortable. Now I use it daily for project management and personal journaling. Wish the offline mode was better though.
Too complex for what I need
I just want a simple to-do list and notes app. Notion is overkill for me. Every time I open it I feel like I need to build a database just to write down a grocery list. Good for power users, not for me.
Best workspace app period
Our startup runs entirely on Notion. We have our product roadmap, meeting notes, company wiki, and HR docs all in one place. The API integrations are solid too. Worth every penny of the team plan.
Great but the mobile experience needs work
Desktop version is a 5/5 for me. But the mobile app... it's slow to load, navigation is clunky, and editing tables on a phone is painful. I mainly use it on desktop now and just reference things on mobile.
Replaced 5 other apps for me
Evernote, Trello, Google Docs, Airtable, and my journal app - all replaced by Notion. The templates gallery is fantastic to get started quickly. Highly recommend for anyone willing to invest time learning it.
Offline mode is a dealbreaker
I travel frequently and need to access my notes on planes. Notion's offline support is unreliable at best. I've lost edits multiple times when going from offline to online. This is a serious issue that needs fixing.
Perfect for my PhD research
Using Notion to organize my research papers, notes, and thesis chapters. The linked databases let me cross-reference everything beautifully. Only downside is I sometimes worry about data privacy since everything is in the cloud.
Team collaboration is top notch
We switched from Confluence to Notion and the team loves it. Comments, mentions, real-time editing all work smoothly. The learning curve was worth it. Our documentation is actually readable now.
Performance keeps getting worse
Been using Notion for 2 years and the app keeps getting slower. My workspace with ~500 pages now takes forever to search. Loading times are frustrating. I might have to start looking at alternatives.
AI features are a nice addition
The Notion AI assistant is actually useful for drafting and summarizing notes. Not perfect but saves me time. The core product remains excellent for organization.
My digital brain
I run my entire life through Notion - work projects, personal goals, recipes, reading lists, travel plans. The flexibility to create exactly what you need is unmatched. Templates make it easy to get started.
Good product, aggressive pricing
The free tier got more restrictive and the team plan pricing keeps going up. The product itself is good but I feel like they keep moving features behind paywalls. Not cool.
Best note-taking app for students
Using this for all my college courses. Each class has its own page with lecture notes, assignments, and readings. The toggle blocks are perfect for study guides. Just wish the equation editor was better.
Notion API opened up so many possibilities
As a developer, the API lets me automate so much. I have scripts that pull data from various sources directly into Notion databases. The integration ecosystem keeps growing too.
Solid but not lightweight
Notion does everything well but nothing feels lightweight. Sometimes I just want to jot a quick note and it feels like starting up a spaceship. For serious work its great, for quick capture not so much.
Our company wiki runs on this
We migrated 1000+ pages from Confluence and never looked back. The UI is so much cleaner and people actually enjoy writing documentation now. That alone was worth the switch.
Search needs improvement
For an app that stores so much information, the search function is surprisingly mediocre. It often misses content that I know exists. Full-text search across databases would be a game changer.
Replaced my bullet journal
After years of bullet journaling on paper, I switched to Notion. I miss the tactile feel but the ability to search, reorganize, and share my notes digitally is worth the trade-off.
Great product with a few quirks
The formatting options are excellent, the blocks system is intuitive once you learn it. My only issues are occasional sync problems and the fact that tables still feel clunky compared to a real spreadsheet.
