Simple and effective
Lose It is straightforward. Not as many features as some competitors but it does basic calorie counting well. The interface is clean and easy to navigate. Good for beginners who dont need micronutrient tracking.
Good budget option
The free version of Lose It is more usable than MFPs free version. Less ads, decent database. Not the most accurate but good enough for casual trackers. Premium adds some nice features but isnt required.
Basic but limited
Does the basics fine but once you want more detail like micronutrients or AI features youre out of luck. The food database is smaller than MFP and I find myself manually entering foods pretty often.
Clean interface, good scanner
Love how clean the UI is. Barcode scanner works well most of the time. The snap-a-photo feature exists but its nowhere near as accurate as dedicated AI trackers. Still a solid choice for simple tracking.
Decent app, wish it did more
Been using Lose It for about a year. Its fine for counting calories but I wish it tracked more nutrients. The meal planning feature is nice but limited. Considering upgrading to something with more depth.
Best free calorie counter
For a free app, Lose It is hard to beat. The database is decent, the interface is intuitive, and it doesnt bombard you with ads like MFP. Just dont expect advanced features.
Lost 15 lbs with this app
Simple calorie counting works and Lose It makes it easy. Ive lost 15 pounds in 3 months just by logging consistently. No fancy AI needed for me - just the basics done well.
Photo feature needs work
The food photo scanning feature is available but honestly its not very accurate. Gets maybe 60% of items right. Still faster to just search manually. The rest of the app is solid though.
Great for beginners
If youve never tracked calories before, start here. Its not overwhelming and teaches good habits. You might outgrow it eventually if you want more detailed nutrition data but its a great starting point.
Good not great
Does what it says. Counts calories. The database is okay. UI is nice. But nothing really stands out. In a world of AI-powered nutrition apps this feels a bit behind the times.
Reliable daily driver
Been my go-to for 2 years. Not the fanciest app but it works consistently. Rarely crashes, updates are smooth, and the core features are solid. If it added better micronutrient tracking Id give it 5 stars.
Needs more restaurant options
Great for packaged food but struggles with restaurant meals. I eat out a lot and find myself guessing more than Id like. The database could use more chain restaurant menus.
Better than MFP
Switched from MFP to Lose It and the experience is so much better. Fewer ads, cleaner interface, and while the database is smaller its more accurate since its curated. Happy with the switch.
Premium features should be free
Some features that are free in other apps require Lose It premium. Like custom goals and detailed macros. The free version is still good but feels artificially limited in places.
Simple and I love it
Not every app needs to be packed with features. Lose It does calorie counting simply and effectively. I log my meals in a minute or two and move on with my day. Thats all I want.
Wish it tracked micronutrients better
The macro tracking is fine but I need more detail on vitamins and minerals. Lose It only covers the basics. Had to get a second app for micronutrients which is annoying.
My weight loss companion
Using Lose It alongside my diet plan and its been super helpful. Easy to log, easy to review, and the weekly summaries are motivating. Down 22 lbs and counting!
Fine for American food
Works well if you eat typical American food. Falls short with international cuisines. The database just doesnt have much variety outside of standard Western dishes.
Solid 4 star app
Does what it promises. Calorie counting made easy. Not groundbreaking but reliable. The social features are a nice touch for accountability. Would recommend for casual dieters.
Good but getting outdated
Lose It needs to innovate or itll fall behind. No AI features, basic database, minimal micronutrient data. Its still functional but the competition is moving fast.
