Beautiful design, good tracking
Lifesum is easily the prettiest calorie tracking app. The design is gorgeous and the UX is smooth. The food tracking is solid with a decent database. Not the most detailed but very pleasant to use daily.
Style over substance
Lifesum looks amazing but the actual tracking features are average. The food database is smaller than competitors, no AI features, and premium is required for anything beyond basic calories. Pretty wrapper around a basic app.
Great Swedish app
Love supporting a Swedish app and Lifesum is genuinely good. The Scandinavian food database is the best. The diet plans are well designed. Just wish the food database was bigger globally.
Good but limited free version
The free version is basically a demo. Need premium for macros, meal plans, and diet tracking. The premium is decent but overpriced compared to what you get from free alternatives. Beautiful app though.
Love the diet plans
The various diet plans (keto, Mediterranean, etc) are well designed and integrated with the food tracker. Makes it easy to follow a specific eating plan. The recipes are good too. More than just calorie counting.
Needs more food data
The app design is top tier. The food database is not. Frequently cant find items, especially non-Scandinavian foods. The barcode scanner helps but doesnt cover enough products. Beautiful but frustrating.
My daily companion
Been using Lifesum for a year and love it. The interface makes tracking feel less like a chore. The meal ratings (happy face to sad face) are a nice touch. Database is growing and generally accurate.
Design A+, features B-
If this was a design competition Lifesum wins. If its a feature competition it loses. No AI, basic micronutrient tracking, limited database. You pay for the experience more than the features.
Great for Scandinavians
Excellent database for Nordic foods. The app design is characteristically Scandinavian - clean, minimal, beautiful. Features are adequate for everyday tracking. Wish it had more advanced analytics.
Pretty but pricey
Lifesum premium costs more than competitors that offer more features. You pay extra for the nice design. The tracking itself is standard. If design matters a lot to you itll be worth it otherwise probably not.
Keeps me motivated
Something about Lifesums design makes me want to keep tracking. The life score metric is motivating and the weekly reports look great. The actual nutrition data could be deeper but the experience keeps me engaged.
Good starter app
Lifesum is great for people new to calorie tracking because its not overwhelming. The interface is welcoming and the diet plans provide structure. More experienced trackers will want something more detailed.
Love the look, want more depth
Gorgeous app that I wish did more. The food tracking is basic compared to Cronometer or newer AI apps. The diet plans are nice but the core tracking needs more detail. Micronutrients especially.
Design cant carry everything
At some point good design isnt enough. Lifesum needs to invest in better food data, AI features, and more detailed tracking to stay competitive. Its falling behind apps that prioritize function over form.
Best looking tracker
No other calorie tracking app looks this good. Period. The tracking is decent - not the best but good enough. If using a beautiful app motivates you to track consistently (it does for me) then Lifesum is worth it.
Mid features, top design
The design team at Lifesum deserves a raise. The feature team needs more resources. This sums up the app - gorgeous to look at, average to use. Good enough for casual trackers, not enough for serious ones.
Improved a lot recently
Lifesum has been improving steadily. Database is bigger, features are expanding, and the design is still best in class. Getting closer to being the complete package. Keep it up.
Scandinavian quality... mostly
True to Scandinavian design principles - clean, minimal, functional. But the food database and tracking depth dont match the design quality. A tale of two halves. Use it if aesthetics matter to you.
Makes tracking enjoyable
I actually enjoy opening Lifesum and logging my meals. The interface is that good. The tracking itself is solid for basic calories and macros. Not the deepest but consistent and pleasant to use.
Good not great
Lifesum occupies a weird space - too basic for serious trackers, too premium-locked for casual ones. The design is excellent and the basic tracking works well. But competitors offer more value for money.
