Price predictions are helpful
The "buy now" vs "wait" recommendations are surprisingly accurate. Followed Hoppers advice on 5 trips and saved money each time. The AI predictions are worth trusting.
Price freeze sounds better than it is
Froze a price but the fine print says you still might pay $50 more. And the freeze fee was $25. So the guarantee has limits. Not quite the safety net it seems.
Saved $400 waiting for price drop
Hopper told me to wait and my $800 flights dropped to $400 three weeks later. Would have overpaid $400 without this app. The bunny icon notifications are cute too.
Beautiful design
One of the best designed travel apps. Clean, colorful, and intuitive. The color-coded calendar showing cheap vs expensive days is brilliant UX design.
Customer service is MIA
Had an issue with a booking and could not reach customer service. No phone number, chat was unresponsive for days. When you need help, Hopper leaves you hanging.
Hotel predictions are getting good
The hotel price predictions have improved a lot. Waited on a hotel booking per Hoppers suggestion and it dropped 25%. Expanding beyond flights nicely.
Not always the cheapest
After Hopper said to buy, I checked Google Flights and found the same flight $40 cheaper. Hopper is good for timing advice but always cross-reference actual prices.
Calendar view is genius
The color-coded calendar showing price levels for each day makes finding cheap travel dates incredibly visual and easy. Red expensive, green cheap. Simple and effective.
Carrot Cash rewards
Hopper gives Carrot Cash credits that can be applied to future bookings. Its like a built-in rewards program. Saved up enough for a free hotel night.
Cancellation flex is pricey
The flexible cancellation add-on costs extra on top of the ticket. For the total cost you could often get a flexible fare directly from the airline.
Best for spontaneous travel
I watch prices and when Hopper says GO, I book. This approach to travel planning is fun and has led me to amazing deals on destinations I wasnt originally considering.
Push notifications are timely
Hopper notifications about price drops come at exactly the right time. Not spammy, not too frequent, and genuinely actionable. Best notification strategy of any travel app.
Limited airline selection
Some budget airlines and regional carriers arent included. The prediction is only as good as the airlines it tracks. More coverage needed.

Sharing deals with friends and planning trips together through the app is fun. The social features are light but useful for group travel coordination.
Refund took 2 months
Cancelled a flight and waited 2 months for the refund. Multiple follow-ups with no response. Eventually got the money but the delay was unacceptable.
