Still the king for collectibles
No other app comes close for finding rare collectibles and vintage items. I collect vinyl records and eBay is my go-to. The app search filters are decent.
Fees are getting ridiculous
As a seller the fees keep going up. Between listing fees, final value fees, and payment processing fees, eBay takes a huge chunk. The app works fine but the business model is frustrating.
Got scammed and eBay didnt help
Bought an electronics item that was described as new but arrived clearly used and damaged. Opened a case and the seller ghosted. eBay eventually refunded me but it took over a month.
Auction sniping is addictive
Theres nothing like winning an auction in the last second. The app makes bidding easy and the notifications for ending auctions are clutch. Found so many great deals this way.
Great for reselling clothes
I buy and resell vintage clothing through eBay and the app makes listing items pretty straightforward. The photo upload and description tools are adequate. Would love better analytics.
Too many counterfeit items
Searched for designer items and half the listings are obvious fakes. eBay needs to do a better job policing counterfeits. The authentication service for sneakers is good tho.
International shipping works well
I order from sellers worldwide and the Global Shipping Program makes it straightforward. Customs and duties are calculated upfront which I appreciate. App handles everything smoothly.
App needs a redesign
The app feels like its stuck in 2015. The interface is cluttered and navigation could be much more intuitive. It works but doesnt feel modern at all compared to other shopping apps.
Best place for car parts
As a car enthusiast, eBay Motors is unmatched. Found OEM parts for my classic car that I couldnt find anywhere else. The compatibility checker saves so much time.
Buyer always wins disputes unfairly
Im a seller and eBay ALWAYS sides with the buyer. Had a buyer claim item not received even though tracking showed delivered. eBay refunded them from my account. No protection for sellers.
Deals section is worth checking
The daily deals section in the app often has genuinely good prices on electronics and home goods. I check it every morning with my coffee. Saved hundreds over the past year.
Mixed bag really
Some great experiences, some terrible ones. Had a seller send me the wrong size shoes twice. But also found amazing deals on refurbished tech. You just have to be careful and read seller reviews.
Selling is easy with the app
The listing process has gotten much better. The app can scan barcodes and auto-fill most details. Shipping label creation is seamless. Makes clearing out closets actually enjoyable.
Search results need work
Search often returns irrelevant items. If I search for a specific model number I shouldnt see dozens of accessories and cases first. The filtering helps but shouldnt be necessary.
Love the best offer feature
Making offers on items and negotiating prices is fun and saves money. Got a great deal on a camera lens by offering 70% of asking price. The seller accepted within minutes.
Managed payments is terrible
Since eBay moved from PayPal to managed payments, payouts are slower and theres less transparency. As a seller I miss being able to access my funds immediately.
Authentication service is legit
Bought a pair of Jordans through the authentication program and they checked out. Gives you peace of mind when buying expensive sneakers. Wish they expanded this to more categories.
Not what it used to be
eBay was once the go to for online shopping but its lost its edge. Most items are now buy-it-now at retail prices. The auction magic is mostly gone. Still useful for niche items.
Good for electronics deals
Refurbished electronics on eBay are amazing value. Got a MacBook for half the retail price and its been working perfectly for 6 months. The app makes comparing listings easy.
Shipping costs ruin the deals
Find a great price on something and then the shipping is $15+. Wish more sellers offered free shipping or eBay would incentivize it more. The item filter for free shipping helps somewhat.
