Essential for families
With kids in the house, Disney+ is non-negotiable. The back catalog of Disney classics plus new Marvel and Star Wars content makes it the most-used app in our home.
Marvel content alone is worth it
The MCU shows are consistently entertaining. Loki, WandaVision, and the movies make the subscription worthwhile even without touching the rest of the library.
Limited for adults without kids
If you dont have kids and arent into Marvel or Star Wars, the content is limited. The adult-oriented content is sparse compared to HBO or Netflix.
Star Wars shows range from great to ok
Andor is masterpiece TV. Mandalorian is fun. Some others are mediocre. The Star Wars content quality varies but the highs are very high.
4K at base price is generous
Unlike Netflix charging extra for 4K, Disney+ includes it in the standard plan. The value for video quality is the best among streaming services.
Content library grows slowly
The rate of new content is slower than Netflix. Can go weeks without anything new to watch. The back catalog is great but new releases need to accelerate.
Nostalgia plus new magic
Watching classic Disney movies with my kids that I grew up with plus exploring new content together is magical. This service was made for families.
GroupWatch is a great feature
Watching movies synced with friends and family remotely through GroupWatch has been fun. The social viewing feature works smoothly.
Navigation needs improvement
Finding specific content can be frustrating. The categorization and search could be much better. Sometimes I know a movie is on Disney+ but cant find it.
National Geographic is underrated
The NatGeo content on Disney+ is incredible. Documentaries that rival Netflix originals. An overlooked part of the service that deserves more attention.
Bundle with Hulu makes sense
The Disney+ and Hulu bundle covers family AND adult content for a reasonable combined price. The bundle is the way to go for complete household entertainment.
Shows are too short
Marvel and Star Wars shows are only 6-8 episodes. Just when I get invested its over. Would prefer longer seasons with more character development.
Pixar library is amazing
Every Pixar movie in one place. From Toy Story to Soul to Elemental. The Pixar collection alone makes Disney+ worth having for animation fans.
Content quality over quantity
Disney+ has fewer titles than Netflix but the average quality is higher. Less filler content means less time browsing and more time watching good stuff.
Ads on cheaper tier are reasonable
The ad-supported tier has fewer ads than expected. Maybe 4 minutes per hour. Tolerable for the price savings. Better ad experience than Hulu.
The vault is finally open
Remember when Disney movies would disappear into "the vault"? Now everything is available all the time. The permanent accessibility is worth the subscription.
IMAX Enhanced is a nice touch
Select movies in IMAX Enhanced with expanded aspect ratio and better audio is a great touch. Makes home viewing feel more theatrical.
International content via Star
In some markets, the Star section adds a lot of adult content from Hulu and FX. US subscribers miss out on this. The international version is more complete.
Download quality is excellent
Downloaded content for a long flight and the quality was indistinguishable from streaming. The download management is simple and efficient.
IP powerhouse delivers
Owning Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and NatGeo gives Disney+ the most powerful IP library in entertainment. The content moat is nearly unbreachable.
