Best transit app in existence
For getting around London, NYC, or any major city by transit, nothing beats Citymapper. It combines every mode of transport into one coherent journey plan. Brilliant design.
Made me love public transit
Before Citymapper I was terrified of buses and subways in new cities. Now I navigate like a local. The step by step instructions with "get off in X stops" are perfect.
Wish it was in more cities
Absolutely love it in the cities where its available but my hometown isnt covered. Would be a 5-star app if it had wider city coverage. In supported cities its flawless.
The rain mode is genius
It factors rain into your journey and suggests routes with more underground segments or covered walkways when its raining. Such a thoughtful feature. Who thinks of this stuff?
Real time bus arrivals are accurate
The real-time bus tracking is more accurate than the official transit apps. If Citymapper says the bus is 3 minutes away, its 3 minutes away. Trustworthy info.
Multimodal routing is perfect
Walk 5 min, take subway 3 stops, switch to bus for 2 stops, walk 2 min. Citymapper orchestrates complex multimodal journeys effortlessly. Makes cities accessible.
Bike and scooter integration
Shows availability of nearby bikes and scooters from multiple providers. Integrates them into journey options seamlessly. Perfect for last-mile transportation.
Commute tracking is motivating
The commute stats showing calories burned, CO2 saved, and time on transit are motivating. Makes you feel good about choosing public transit over driving.
Saved me in Tokyo
Tokyos transit system is insanely complex but Citymapper made it navigable. Told me exactly which car to board for the fastest transfer. Incredible detail.
Needs more cities ASAP
I travel for work and Citymapper only covers about half my destinations. Having to switch to Google Maps for uncovered cities is frustrating. Please expand faster.
Disruption alerts are timely
When a subway line has delays or closures, Citymapper alerts you and automatically suggests alternative routes. The real-time disruption handling is excellent.
Design is beautiful
The UI is clean, colorful, and intuitive. Transit lines are color-coded, instructions are clear, and the overall experience is delightful. Other apps should take notes.
Live bus location on map
Being able to see the actual bus on the map approaching your stop is amazing. No more guessing if the bus is coming or if you just missed it.
Accessibility features matter
The wheelchair accessible routes and elevator/escalator info is crucial for accessibility. Citymapper takes this seriously and provides genuinely useful accessibility guidance.
Night mode routes are smart
Late at night it suggests safer, well-lit routes and Night Tube/bus options. The awareness of time-specific transit availability is a nice touch.
Best app Ive ever used
Not exaggerating - Citymapper is the most thoughtfully designed app on my phone. Every feature feels intentional and useful. Sets the standard for what transit apps should be.
Offline mode is limited
The offline functionality is basic compared to Google Maps. In areas with poor signal this is a problem. Would love full offline transit directions.
Worth installing for supported cities
If your city is supported, install it immediately. It will change how you navigate. The combination of all transport modes in one app is unmatched.
Taxi and ride-share comparison
Shows Uber and Lyft prices alongside transit options. Makes it easy to decide whether the convenience is worth the cost. Great for informed decision-making.
Tourists essential app
Recommending Citymapper to everyone visiting a major city. Makes you look like a local instead of a confused tourist staring at a paper map. Tourist must-have.
